ta-da!

In honor of the world baseball classic or whatever it's called, I give you.....drumroll.....your new background! With the DM music, and the random baseballs, it's almost like a bad 80's music video, where the director was trying to express something....I don't know, help me out here kids. What was his message?

Pssst...

It's not fall anymore. Think we should change the background?

Ron and Karin have asked if they could have the twins birthday party on the 25th at our house. We said that would be fine and then talked with each other and got permission from Ron and Karin to go ahead and have a family dinner that night, and include Angie in the birthday celebration.

So come one come all to Ray and GaeLynn's for the January Birthday party on January 25th @ 6pm.

Testimony of a Prophet

When I went through New Employee Orientation a couple of weeks ago, the head of ICS, Joel Dehlin, shared a quote from President Hinckley that he felt applied directly to the work of ICS:

"With the growth of the Church, we likely could never build a hall large enough to accommodate all who would wish to assemble in one place. Nor would accelerating travel costs make possible their coming. The gifts of science have provided a more convenient way. We are confident that as the work of the Lord expands, he will inspire men to develop the means whereby the membership of the Church, wherever they may be, can be counseled in an intimate and personal way by his chosen prophet. Communication is the sinew that binds the Church as one great family. Between those facilities which are now available and those which are on the horizon, we shall be able to converse one with another according to the needs and circumstances of the time."

Sounds cool, right?

Well, if you look at the date for the talk from which it was taken you'll notice the date the talk was given: October Conference 1981

I know that was years before I'd even heard of the internet and all the other modern communications technologies we take for granted.

Just thought I'd share that with y'all since it had strengthened my testimony of our modern prophets and their ability to guide us through perilous times.
